The addition of Dwayne will allow us to maintain our Mini-Sprint presence, while allowing us to pursue a MSA 360 Sprint car transition. We are looking forward to a great season for both efforts.

Congratulations to Dwayne Williford and the #28w team for a top 10 effort resulting in 11th place in the A.M.S.A. point standings. It was a successful season with a few top 5 and several top 10 finishes. We had a bad crash early on and a blown engine in the middle of the season, and still delivered a respectable finish. We would like to thank everyone for a great year and we look forward to the 2004 Race Season. See you there!

Finally the first race of the season! We arrived at the track late and were unable to qualify. We had to start in the back of the heat. We stated 8th and finished 5th. Starting 5th in the feature and finishing 3rd after a close battle with the #3 of Ron Brannam for several laps. A solid 3rd, nice way to start the year!

Manitowoc Speedway / June 19, 2004 - by Tom Wardlow
First visit to Manitowoc Speedway. We kind of missed the setup for the heat race and finished in 6th place. We started 2nd in the feature and hoped for better results. It was a great start and after passing the #3 car we were in the lead. On lap three the car lost power and we coasted to an 8th place finish. It was later determined that the car suffered and ignition switch failure.

Things are looking better! We enjoyed our first Heat race win, leading from flag to flag holding off a hard charging #20 of Tom Brown. The feature was a roller coaster ride. We started 4th then spun out on lap 2. We started at the rear of the field and fought our way back to 5th place when the rear suspension broke ending our run.

It was no surprise that the competition in the final rounds of the Spring Leagues was going to be fierce, but nobody expected it to be the Dad's! Capping off the series was a very competitive Father's Day Challenge that was determined by only one point in a couple of the groups.

Returning to Track 1, the Junior Leagues picked up where they left off with extremely close and competitive racing. Speaking of fast lap times, …driver on the move, Brittany Williford set Fastest Lap in three of her Group 4 races helping her to earn a Round 6 victory. We would like to thank all of the Dad's (and one Mom!) that took part in the Father's Day Challenge. Running in conjunction with the Junior Leagues, the Dad's raced on the very challenging Track 2. Racing was extremely competitive and every point each driver earned was hard fought. From the juniors to the Dad's to the spectators, everybody had a great time and witnessed the utmost in competition and sportsmanship throughout the races.
